Scotty McCreery is once again getting recognition as one of music's most powerful young stars.
The former "American Idol" winner ranks eighth in Billboard.com's "21 Under 21" - a list of the 21 biggest artists under the age of 21. "Billboard" notes that Scotty will soon release his sophomore CD, See You Tonight, and he's climbing the chart with the album's title track.
In addition, this year Scotty went on his first headlining tour, and he's teamed up with the Bojangles fried chicken chain for endorsement deal.
However, Scotty is taking a dip in the rankings. Last year he took fourth place on the list. The British boy band One Direction is this year's list leader. Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus round out the top three. Ariana Grande, Early Sweatshirt, Lorde, and Austin Mahone also come in ahead of Scotty this time around.
